The Course of a Traditional Chinese Medicine Session
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a holistic approach that considers the mind, body, and environment of the individual. A session typically lasts between 1 and 1.5 hours and is divided into three fundamental stages:
1. The Energy Assessment
Each session begins with an in-depth discussion called the anamnesis. We review your reasons for consultation, your medical history, your lifestyle, your sleep, and your emotions.
You can find a patient form to fill out below.
To refine this assessment using traditional methods, two specific examinations are performed:
Tongue observation: its color, shape, and coating reflect the state of your internal organs.
Pulse testing: measured at both wrists in several positions, these pulses allow us to assess the quality of the flow of energy (Qi) in your meridians.
2. Personalized Treatment
Once the energy imbalance has been identified, we proceed to the treatment phase on the massage table. Depending on your specific needs and sensitivity, several manual and energetic techniques will be applied.
3. Advice and Closing
The session concludes with a brief debriefing on your experience. Personalized advice, such as guidance on Chinese dietary principles, lifestyle, simple breathing exercises, or Qi Gong, may be offered to help you extend the benefits of the treatment into your daily life. As a complement, and to further enhance the effects of the session, auriculotherapy may be recommended.
